Offline | Looks great Stiggy. I've been to my local dealer (Knight's Stoke) but they wouldn't do it So I'm going to try Ble Bell in Crewe tomorrow, failing that a day out in Blackpool and a visit to Woodman's may be needed. ![]() Does anyone know the difference between the Cooper S grille and the JCW grille? Cheers! |

Offline | So what about putting a chrome Cooper grill onto a Cooper S ??? I've done a search, and not really found much information. I know it would be another bodge job, but I'm not sure exactly what the bodge would be. Any ideas? |

Offline | You can fit an S grille to a D, but you have to drill two large holes in order to clear some bolts on the radiator. I'll try and take a picture later. The JCW grille comes with two bulges designed to miss the bolts. Other than that it looks very similar to the S grille. First, I'd try to get hold of a chrome grille from a Cooper D, not a Cooper, as I'm fairly sure they share the same bonnet. The problem will be the lower chrome again! If the Cooper S chrome needs trimming to fit a D, then presumably it will be slightly short doing it the other way around. With all this grille swapping going on, you'll find a few on eBay! If you're brave enough, buy one and have a go. |

Offline | It was one of the mechanics, not sure who? They said with it being plastic they wouldn't want to attempt to cut it as it would look crap! How come other's have managed it but Knights can't......makes you doubt their skills. Did you have any luck with knights? Had no luck at Blue Bell either, who had the nerve to suggest buying the JCW aero kit.......makes you wonder if some of the dealers are only interested in is selling you stuff rather than helping the customer out ![]() I'm going to buy the parts myself then try a local body shop to cut them for me! ![]() |

Offline | I went in there the other day with my mum to get her R56 Cooper sorted and it is being sorted now that one of the service people has left ![]() Knights don't seem to have any quality control. A few dealers are there just to fit things etc if you get what I mean and they can't be bothered to stand there and modify things, because it would be to much hard work. ![]() The Orange Blob As My Avatar Is The Mascot Of JetAlliance Racing Called 'Carli'. |

Offline | In fairness to the dealerships, it isn't really the kind of work they do. Metal and paint, yes. Trimming plastic, no. It's good to know that a few will go the extra mile though. What you need is a woodwork/metalwork hobbiest. Got a grandad with a toolshed? The chrome-plated plastic grill is more like wood than anything else. |

Offline | The parts Stiggy gave us ! - and a Dremel to fit the sides of the Cooper S crome.. 15 minutes of work MAX.. Piece of cake ! Quote : First, for a Cooper D you will need part number 51110404123 as the JCW grille for a ONE/Cooper and Cooper D/S are different. You will need to fit the lower chrome from a Cooper S which is part number 51112751625. This isn't a perfect fit either, so you have to trim the ends slightly to make it fit the Cooper D bumper. |
