Do "Standard" MINIs look better than modified ones?

Having a look at this thread: MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - Please Post Pictures of Your R56 Here...

I came to the conclusion that factory issued type cars look way better than those modified by owners.

"Factory" cars can include official MINI prodicts, but not ones designed/chosen by the owner from a third party supplier.

What do you think?

I prefer the offical mods, like the JCW Aero Kit.

I like the 'posh stock' look also... the JCW aero kit, jcw alloys etc can really make a car look special

There's a few tiny non-mini mods that look good, but for big things I think you gotta keep the class, and keep it mini!!

Less is usually more to my mind. But I see so many bling and ASBO mods around here that I've developed a personal aversion to visible mods in general!

IMO to make your mini stand out and look smart it needs (as others have said) the JCW aerokit, some lowering springs (definately) on the R56 as stock it looks like and off roader! And then some nice 17" or 18" wheels

Some cars/combos on after-market wheels/springs do look cool - Most cars on here come to mind However, 8/10, I think Id prefer a standard one, just needs bonnet stripes IMO

like mine then

Cooper Pepper with Aero, Eibachs & black alloys is also a very good route

visually & image-wise the JCW accessories are certainly #1

Well I voted for from the factory mods, but I exclude wheels from that statement. A nice set of wheels really sets off a stock looking Mini. But definately not chrome ricer varieties. Anything sporty and not too big.

When I was young I spent 75% of my money on fast cars, women and alcohol. I guess I wasted the rest.

The JCW Wheels look great though.

I do not necessarily agree as my old cooper did not have many BMW parts on it and looked very nice, in fact turned more heads than my new R56 cooper with full JCW Body Kit (Inc. JCW Spoiler)
