Offline | Bike rack options on an R56 S? I've seen plenty of rear/high mount setups on the older MINIs, but nothing so far on the R56. What are people using? Any paint/panel damage? Prefer rear- to roof- mount, but frankly I'd prefer to drive my car to Bedgebury/Penshurst rather than ride it there (lazy near-40-year-old) so I'll take any option! Thanks. |

![]() Addicted to MINI... | I have the mini roof rails with two bike racks mounted on them. The rails clamp in to the gutters on the roof. Its a very sturdy and good looking system but you have to remove part of the roof seal when you first attatch the rails, you get four blanking plates for the gaps you make. Chili Red R56 Cooper |

Offline | Bad form to answer one's own question, but I found a link to the rear-mounted system: MotoringFile » Archive » R56 Rear Carrier Official PDF Rob. |

Offline | Standard receiver hitch There is am online vendor called "minidomore.com" that offers a standard 1 1/4" receiver hitch for the R56. If it works as advertised (i have not yet ordered this hitch myself), this is the best solution, because it allows you to use any standard receiver-hitch bike rack, which gives you a whole world of bike racks from which to choose, and those bike racks will be useable on other cars with standard receiver hitches. They claim that the hitch below also lets you tow a small trailer. |

| MINI2 Regular | Exactly why I bought it. I've got the '2' (the '3' is just too bulky for the MCS) and It carries my 07' Rockhopper perfectly. They come in various colours and can be had for as little as £80 if you hunt around.
