I dont understand why nightfire red (my personel fav color) does not come on the s so I was wondering if any one knows why it doesnt especially since they essentially have the same body and if their where any plans to bring it to the mini s or the upcomming factory jcw

No, you can't have Nightfire Red on an S in the UK either.

Another odd thing: you can't have red half-leather with Nightfire Red. Why not?

It's a simple answer...

Nightfire Red does not carry any sporting pretensions - when did you last see a burgundy red Ferrari or Porsche?

On the flip side, when did you last see a Merc S class in mellow yellow?

On the inside the red colour line would just look wrong - imho.

and in darker light it becomes more of a darker red (burgandy)

anyway that first pic is of a mini s with nightfire red here in the states I messaged him to find out why but still no answer.

as far as I can tell the 0-60 in 4.7s 135i comes in a decently simeler color

and then theirs the 1st mini s with half red interior agian have no idea how

The first MINI pictured is a Cooper S and the second is a Cooper

Hey - The top Mini Cooper S is mine and can confirm it is Chili Red - Not nightfire red...

I agree with Harpo. Nightfire red is a heritage colour only allowed on the Cooper as the Cooper has the "Classic" heritage. The S is the sport version not the heritage version so the S gets the Lazer Blue instead. I moaned at the German designers at a VIP day at the factory over this decision. I too love the Nightfire red and soo wanted it with a silver roof on the S. Not allowed I'm afraid - the factory just won't make it it goes against their silly design rules!

Yea i agree with you about the silly rules but i guess you have to have silly rules like that in design when you have such a strong historic following and you have to make everyone happy, i see what you mean about the cooper being the heritage version and why the color deserves to be on it, in that respect what special color do you think the new jcw factory car will get
