Offline | The factory aero kit is an abomination and should be removed from sale, to prevent further embarrassment to the brand. What where they thinking when they left half of the arches black, and the other half colour coded?! ![]() The JCW kit on the other hand looks great. ![]() Last edited by R99 : Mar 13th, 2008 at 06:20 PM. |

Offline | There was another guy on here who ordered the JCW kit and went to collect his car to find the BMW kit on the car. I reckon it's a mistake that has happened a fair few times too. There is no way I would be seen driving around in a MINI with that kit on. |

Offline | It's terrible, can't understand the kit at all, the way the sideskirts cut the black from the wheel arch, the foglights look daft with the black patch offset in the corner, just does not look good. Would not like to pay £950+ for this as a factory option! |

| MINI convert | Ok - I have a confession. I have an R56 MCS and I love it - the power, the handling, the stopping abilility, even that I have to fight the torque steer to keep it in a straight line ![]() However, am I alone in thinking that the back end of the R56 is just ugly - I don't like the way that you can see so much of the suspension, and that the exhaust looks as though someone has stuck a couple of tin cans on the end of a bit of piping. I would love to add an aerokit, but in my opinion the JCW doesn't come down low enough to cover all it's faults and as we have seen, the official kit is a bit of a joke.Does anyone know what choices we have when it comes to these kits and whether they will be compatible with the JCW tuning kit, which I think includes a new exhaust system, when I get it Are there any warranty issues also with an unofficial kit ![]() Thanks - Jerry Terror of Top Gear 2008 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAoryHKX164 |

| Back in a first gen. | I dont thinks its ugly..... I wouldnt have bought one if I had have done. Theres a couple of choices out there if you dont fancy going the JCW bodykit route, but dont expect MINI to uphold your warranty if something goes wrong that can be attributed to another kit..... I have no problems with the JCW kit on mine......and I must say you dont see as much of the suspension as you do in a car with standard bumpers |

Offline | BRADS BRO: Are you sure about what you have said about the JCW KIT, it does hide the rear struts and the exhaust. I can stand way back from mine and i still don't see anything under the car. One thing you could think of doing is getting the JCW KIT (that doesn't show much, if anything) and get a lowering kit put on it as that will deffo get rid of the struts and in turn get rid of any veiwable exhaust. Online | Of course I am! It's my car on its first day home in Jan 2007, that I blanked the reg out of, that is placed on my road, is parked near cars/houses I recognise etc... The fact is once you post something on this site (and any site come to that) it pretty much enters the public domain, search engines such as Google will find the images and people will take them and use them as they wish with no references or permission. I've seen it crop up on a couple of sites so far, makes me chuckle every time. |

Offline | I am another one of those unfortunate people who got sent the stupid factory kit instead of the jcw aero kit. I think the factory is just trying to shift as many as possible cos they know how horrible it is. i bet they must have hundreds of the things sitting around unsold. Anyways, my JCW kit is on its way and will be fitted in 2 weeks time. Can't wait. ![]() |
