Front inner fenderwell liners

As reported by Paul Mullett in his review of the 07 MCS on loan to him by MINI. Anyone else seeing this problem in their new R56s?

Wasn't just the liner, it's the wheel arch trim also, but hard to tell what prompted what to come free first.

wonder if it was down to poor fitment. Unlikely to be rubbing from the tyres as the gap is now huge. Was there any signs of the tyre rubbing did you hear any rubbing.???

I wonder if this could have been caused by the heavy rains? I have a New Honda Accord and when I traverse through heavy puddles, the hub caps come undone at the edges and appear warped until until I push them back in (they are also secured by the lug nuts). This would be interesting to find out if the extra precipitation causes what Paul experienced.

I haven't noticed this happening on mine yet, but will check at lunchtime as I drove through the mother of all puddles this morning !

Didn't hear any rubbing, but I guess it could have bumped it off, but with both sides being exactly the same I doubt that, with the new "carpeted" wheel well lining it would be impossible to spot much rubbing anyway. Not happy with it though, but then again I do tend to drive more challenging roads than many seem to, but as it's one of my regular play routes, and part of one of the Darkness Runs, I didn't expect to find trim out of place on both sides!

in the past when my wheels have rubbed it is normally the rear when going over certain bumps etc etc.

you sure you didn't park the front of the car over a pavement pulling at the trim when you reversed. it has a good bit lip underneath the front.

Couldn't do that anyway (not that I parked anywhere but laybys anyway), as it's the rear of the front arches popped outward, not the front of them pulled forward.
