Offline | Check your tyre pressures! Just a word of warning regarding tyre pressures. I've had my new R56 three weeks now and my boyfriend checked the tyre pressures for me this morning when he was washing it. Usually we'd expect the garage to slightly over-inflate the tyres (I've always had to let out some air from new tyres in the past) but we discovered that all four of my tyres were well under pressure. Being cold we would have expected them to be a little low but two of them were 0.5Bar below where they should have been! I'm not sure how big an issue the under-inflation is on the run flats but I guess it can't be good for them to be that low. Might be worth checking your pressures if you've got a new car in case your dealership (or do they come from the factory under-inflated?) have under-inflated your tyres as well. |

Offline | I checked mine for the first time, a week ago and found the same. They were all at about 2 bar rather than 2.5. Not a massive problem I guess but just goes to show that pressures need to be checked regularly. Paul |

Offline | Tyre pressures Hiya all I just took delivery of my works cooper (cherished) last week. The tyre pressures have been all over the place ! Not one of them was correct and I have been back twice since to have them checked and double checked. I think Im having problems with them anyway, but so far Im not too impressed. Tyres just dont go down on their own. Sufice to say it doesnt give me much confidence to zoom around in a 200bhp car with splashy tyres !!! |

Offline | My new MCS had 2.2bar for all tyres instead of the correct 2.5 bar for 17 inch rims. I think the tyre fitter at the dealer filled them for 16 inch rims at 2.2 bar as stated on the pressure label matrix rather than the higher pressure for bigger rims - just lack of attention to detail when retro fitting my optional alloys. I topped them all up yesterday. |
