Offline | I would stick with it Paul The chances are you will be offered a replacement car and hopefully it will be 100%. As you already have FUN would you be as satisfied gettiing a later previous generation than the R56, I think you would always be longing for the new model. It's a tough decision when your confidence has been dented along with MINI's customer support, however there plenty of R56 owners who seem to be loving their new cars with no problems The time to give up is if your replacement R56 is a lemming too, which I imagine would be very doubtful. ![]() |

Offline | Paul, I CANNOT believe what I am reading!! Your '07 is clearly a lemon! I have been considering replacing my 02 Cooper with a 07 MCS but after reading this thread I think I'll wait a while or consider another car. Maybe a Mazda 3 or a new VW GTI?? My dealer (who has been great) has invited me to a reception for the 2007 model this friday. I'm tempted to go and make some remarks about this thread. ARE YOU READING THIS BMW???!!! Good luck Paul. Life is short! Why drive a boring car?! Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages. |

Offline | Do they know you bloomin' run this site, you could hold them ransom for a replacement, if that doesn't work you could give damaging publicity Maybe some of the duffer car owners should send an email to BBC's watchdog and get them to look into it. Renault was on a few weeks ago about some faults on the clio and renault ended up sort every single one out. Not every MINI owner comes on this site, so if it does get out to the mass media then we might find the problems could be on a larger scale....hope not though ![]() |

![]() Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. | He mentions earlier in the thread that he doesn't want to be treated any differently just because he runs a MINI related website. He wants to be treated like any other customer would and to be honest I don't blame him. Paul, I've only just found this thread. Sorry to hear about the troubles you've had. I can only hope that your MINI adventure hasn't come to a premature end. ![]() |

Offline | Hi Paul. I feel the treatment you have endured is shameful. What on earth is happening to MINI public relations? Don' t they realise they are shooting themselves in the foot big time? I have been lucky, touch wood, that in recent months our 06 Park Lane has behaved itself and our dealership has always been excellent. However, reading this topic makes me wonder if we would risk buying another MINI, when we eventually replace our current car. I love the whole MINI package, but am shocked at current trends in customer relations. MINI management sort it out. you are loosing credibility and future sales here Cheers Marsh Skippy, Skippy Skippy the hopping, lurching, Cooper Park Lane! |

Offline | +1. Mrs. Wingspan is seriously considering a new R56 now that they are arrived in Florida. I can tell you, we will think twice, and maybe three times about ordering this car considering the information in this discussion thread. Offline | Update... Had a call from Wollaston MINI. Offering either reject/refund or a replacement. Mulling on it. But swaying away from another MINI for a while to be honest. |

| It's only a one... Honest | is it just me or will it be an odd situation to have the proprieter of the biggest MINI owners website in the world without a MINI?!?! Would you consider going back to another older shape S? Maybe hunt down a real minter? not as if you don't have the connections... and with all the help and parts available for it you could have it just how you want it. Just a thought... |

Offline | Splendid, Paul! It seems the bad rap has finally reach the offices of MINI UK. Me thinks you should reject and take a full refund. MINI has explicity put in writting that they can not guarantee a fault free R56, at least not for the time being. It is a tough decision for sure, but knowing that these cars are still riddled with faults, I would take the money and wait out a couple of years until MINI irons out the wrinkles from the new car. Of course, that's my opinion. I think you risk yourself way too much by accepting another replacement. You may end up with another dud in need of having multiple clutch and flywheel replacements. The way I see the situation, as a whole, MINI by repurchasing these cars is clearly admitting to irreparable manufacturing and/or design defects in the R56. More of a reason to set away for a year or two and watch the progress of the car from the sidelines. Perhaps you fancy another car or simply want to try something different, then this is your golden opportunity. Congratulations to a happy ending and hope that everything works out for you. Offline | If I were in paul's shoes and would not see myself driving anything else but a MINI, I would start searching for a '05 or '06 MCS and perhaps get one with the JCW package. Get a 2-3 year warranty and enjoy a fairly solid car. Then revisit the R56 when MINI has addressed the QC issues and perhaps by then get into an AWD 50th anniversary 2009 JCW MCS. I think that would be something well worth waiting for. '02 Cooper CVT PW/B '05 MCS CR/W |

| MINI2 Regular | But you say there are problems, there are also alot of falt free minis out there, in my opinion if you could get a contract drawn up then your covered what ever, you get a crap car again then its refund time, but you could just as easily get a perfect car like quite alot of people on here. When its all working the car is awsome and i cant think of another car out there that offers what the mini does, civic is a HONDA enough said, The vauxhall will without doubt break, Clio enough said, Mini in my opinion is class less and completely unique. Give Them one more chance lol, and say you want to follow the car through the production line to make sure that its built properly, |
