I've got a MCS and it happened last night for the first time. Both windows 3/4 opens. I'm going to phone my dealer when they open. Hopefully its a known issue with a quick fix

Just been onto my dealer. The mini has a feature called comfort opening. This is when you keep the open button pressed on the key fob and both windows start to open, they will eventually open all the way and then start to open your sun roof. This feature is for the summer!!! I cannot say by accident that while my keys where in my pocket I was not pressing the button. The dealer thought that if there was a problem generally it does not open both windows at the same opening level..... To shut the winodws again using the comfort feature you need to put the key in the drivers door and then press the button again, this is fopr safety as no dogs or kids arms are in the way of the closing window..... I will keep an eye on this and see if it happens again!

Get the key reprogrammed with the feature turned off

Popey,

Is there any chance someone/something was pressing the button on your key?

Had the windows doing the open in the rain trick on Saturday past, off to the computer and this page to find out.Armed with lots of info it was off to the dealership. He looked at me strange when I explained about the connector in the A pillar but when he read the pages I printed he was at ease.I complained about the squeaks too,Got the car back today with this info:Re&Re LF Door panel.installed new latch/cable/and outside door handle. Also new window regulator and motor to correct retested all OK.So he tells me that this was the rain dance problem solved,I hope it is but will let you know when it rains again, after I call him though! All under warranty so not too bad.

Yes, my car has this "characteristic" as well. I'm now looking forward to rejecting the car.

It's not so cool, when the car does it all by itself in the middle of night, and you think you've secured the car for the night. It will be really cool when it does it one night in the rain.

I'm actually looking forward to this feature because it's so hot where I live.

If it's causing your problems you should go back to your dealer and have them disenable this feature, I'm sure they can do it.

I don't think disabling this feature of the key would stop a real electronic gremlin in the car is causing the windows to roll down.

If the windows are coming down by accidental pressing of the key buttons, that is a different matter.

The range of the MINI keys seems very long, much longer than my last car.

This is why I said to get the dealer to turn this feature off, if it was an electronic glitch then of coarse you have to get the car fixed.
