Offline | Wife's Cooper S - May '07 - Dark silver, black roof. Auto, and that's a REAL gem matched with the turbo. Her 3rd Coooper, 1st S and she loving it apart from; 1 Too hot inside the car - see 'hot panel' post under faults forum. 2 Passenger airbag warning light on - sorted in a jiffy by Stuart Gosling [ex-Harry Fairbairn and sadly missed 'cos he really loved MINIs and knew the cars well!] 3 Sensor for lights/auto wipe went sort of nuts and lights wouldn't turn off and the wipers just did their own thing really... Apart from that, no squeaks or rattles at all. Oh yes, and STILL the rain comes in when you open the door/window. Why? Lack of old fashioned gutter? Offline | MC Auto + chilli, build date: early March 07, purchase date: 22nd March 07 Just clocked over 4500 miles, and basically very happy with it indeed. Engine smoother and more willing as the miles increase, it now revs like a demon and sounds much better as it gets a little older. Problems? Practically none, just few niggles: A twangy rattle from time to time, especially on those slow-you-down stripes before a roundabout. Been in once for dealer fix, but it's doing it again now - time for next dealer visit. Meanwhile, with the music loud... Driver's footwell mat keeps slipping. As above, dealer fixed once, but it's on the move again. Really not convinced that those black plastic screw-into-the-carpet things will ever actually grip anything - a square foot of velcro should cure it! A whistle/wind howl when going a bit quickly (legal + 15 to 20mph). Thought it was the aerial at first, but have seen the other thread on here that has some useufl feedback on this. Will check with dealer. Only does it occasionally (and mainly when it's windy?), and I can always go slower! That's it. Only very minor niggles. Otherwise it's a totally fab little car, and I'm simply loving it. Auto box is great, and mpg seems to hover happily between 40 and 42, almost whatever I do with it. And that sport button, IMHO, was worth the bitg of extra cash. Cheers |

Offline | 2007 MCS 6 speed with sport package; producion date 2006/01; purchased March 2007. Car arrived May 1st and I've got 9800 km on it already. My favorite part of the day: driving to work, driving home from work. Awesome. Problems: The black plastic above the toggle switch array vibrates near 2800 rpm making a buzzing sound. Seems to come and go depending on the temperature. I haven't taken it in yet to get that fixed - I'll probably wait until my first oil change. Everything else is perfect. |

Offline | I purchased my MCS in March 2007 and was initially very pleased, however at 3000 miles I have noticed two noises which have literally driven me to distraction. The first noise can be heard when decelerating especially when in a low gear it soundsto me like some form of bearing noise ( possibly from clutch) and usually occurs when the engine has warmed up. The second noise is a buffeting/vibrational noise generally heard at higher speeds. I have taken th vehicle back to the dealer on two occasions. They tell me that the second noise could be from the run flat tyres but could offer no explanation for the first despite their diagnostic checks. Has anyone else experienced anything similar . |

Offline | Not sure of the build date at this moment -- acquired July. Normally aspirated, AT. 4500 miles, only one problem so far: sunroof leak when parked in heavy rain. Water pools and leaks through at the front-left corner, right over driver's pants. ![]() I have appointment with local dealer on Monday. My guess for root cause is either fit/finish or plugged drain. |

Offline | 1st Fault Dealer confirmed yesterday that airbag is faulty and needs replacement, no replacement airbags in UK must come from Germany and could take up to two weeks to resolve. BMW will tomorrow deliver MINI convertable as loan car until we get ours back. The publicity out of BMW suggests the factory is capable of producing 240,000 cars per annum, thats 4615 per week, or 659 per day yet their are no spare parts in the UK & it takes up to 10 -14 days to secure and fit one from Germany. We deliver equipment into Germany within 24Hrs so just in time cannot be a mantra for Cowley so Im not impressed with the spare parts division or Mini UK stock control. |

Offline | talking about builds per day the benchmarkfor all car companies is the nissan sunderland plant, 900 cars per day, zero recalls/major faults over 4 years. They are about to expand and push this to 1000 cars. How efficient |
