Fuel leak problem 07 MCS

I was just off to the dealer to get my new car - been waiting since JULY & got a phone call. There has been a recall on the MCS apparently a fuel leak problem & mine has it !!
SO the long awaited March 1st is a wash out. Should be sorted next week!!
of course I don't want a faulty car but I am so very very angry.
Anyone else out there had this?

Moved this to the faults and fixes forum, where you can also find this thread: Smell of Petrol - Leaking fuel pump

You're not alone.

Thanks for sympathy. The other thread was started in January - has it taken this long to do something? My car has been waiting for March 1st for 2 weeks - you would have thought that the garage could have checked before today. Ho Hum
Tonight I will be drinking NOT driving!

You would certainly have thought that the system would have been updated and highlighted this issue before now. Can't imagine how annoying that is (well I can, but you know what I mean!). Enjoy the drink at least!

I thought they had cured all of these problems with the fuel pump This is the first one we have seen with the problem thats been built after the December fix for the fuel pumps.

Have you been told when your getting your car?

Without meaning to be overly cynical it seems odd that lots of other people have picked up there car today with no problem? Maybe your dealer couldn't prep the car in time for delivery today and came up with a suitable excuse

Apparently he got an email from Oxford this morning & it wasn't just my car at their dealership. Allegedly will be OK next week.
I will believe it when I see it. This is my first mini experience..........

Hope you get it sorted soon. I know how you feel my car was delayed a few times before I finally got it.

Now saying that the fuel leak was not a recall but noticed at valet (still on several cars!!). Should be arriving on Thursday/Friday - free TLC (not bad)

For those that are interested in the rejection topic - this months what car page 153 (I think) tells you your rights. It is also on the what car website. It may help, it did with us.
