Offline | Weeping Washer Jets Anyone experiencing weeping washer jet/nozzles? My passenger side washer nozzle weeps occasionally. This is annoying as on a completely dry day without using the windscreen washer I can find a light stream of washer fluid running from the nozzle down the bonnet. And because of a warm bonnet it leaves unsightly water marks on the lid. anyone else getting this. I can see it annoying me more in the summer when I've spent time washing it and come back to a water marked bonnet. ![]() |

Offline | I've got this problem as well. Don't think i've sprayed the washers at all yet, but almost every day there seems to be a water mark running down the bonnet. I checked them after a drive yesterday and you could see fresh water all around the jet. Its mainly on the driver side for me. Have you managed to find a fix yet? |

Offline | No fix as yet as been too lazy to bring it to the attention of the dealer - terrible i know. I started noticing that the rear washer nozzle was damp the other day too. If it gets worse I will take back. Maybe there is air pressure building up in the system forcing it to weap?? |

Offline | thermal expansion? just a quick thought, could the problem be caused by slightly overfilling the washer fluid and then a warm engine/surroundings causing the fluid to weep? |

Offline | Mine does it as well and I can only explain it as follows: once the water jets have been used, there is still water left in the water line that leads to the jets, now because of the heat of the engine (and even more in the MCS due to the turbo) heat makes the air expand, thus pushing the remaining water in the water lines outwars and onto our bonnets!! I really do not think there is a fix to this, enless there is a way to move the water tank for the jets sowhere cooler!! |

Offline | I think that they'll need to wrap the lines in insulation or something. The washer solvent eats the wax and will also damage vinyl graphics. My car is doing it too; it's definately from the engine bay heating. Please, everyone participate in my poll: http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-f...-car-weep.html Safety fast, Bill |

Offline | 'Touch wood' not had this problem...........but it could be due to the washer bottle being too full, and the engine heat causes it to expand and the pressure is releasing via the washer bonnet jets. If this is the reason, then it's just a matter of removing some of the fluid from the bottle i.e. to leave some space for expansion. |

Offline | I thought of that at first too. But it continues to weep even when the supply bottle is 1/3 down as well. It looks as if the lines remain "charged" and that the heating/expansion takes place upstream. Safety fast, Bill |

Offline | Interesting problem with no obvious solution as it still occurs when the bottle is part empty. The fluid is pumped by an electric motor, I wonder if the motor is still getting a small intermittent power supply from another source ? |

| Essex MINI2er | I had this with my new R56! It happened to the o/s washer jet after i'd filled the washer bottle right to the top!!!!!!! After a few squirts it stopped and so far hasnt happened again. Now i dont fill the bottle all the way to the top and touch wood it hasnt leaked since! Ive also spoken with a few other owners who'd experienced exactly the same thing too and since they now dont fill bottle to the top its stopped weeping.............. |
