Offline | I have just been told my car is subject to this "campaign". Apparently after about 15,000 miles the connection between the cat and the rest of the exhaust can come loose. The cure is some new locking nuts. But the job has to be done with a cold engine to get a good joint so the car has to be booked in. It can't be done on a "while you wait" basis. |

Offline | Dealer just called to offer dates to do the job. They said they would pick the car up and return it when finished. Otherwise I could have a free loan car. Given the round trip is about 30 miles, I think that is good service. It certainly makes my life easier. |

Offline | Ours is due for this recall too. We noticed today that there is a very large buildup of nasty black gunge/soot at the base of our left exhaust pipe (i.e. under the car - not at the exit... presumably where it might meet the turbo... perhaps). The right pipe is completely clean. I wonder if this is related?? |

Offline | I would say the problem is the 3 studs that go into the turbine housing need to be wound in tighter, rather than just relying on the 'pull ' of the nuts to prevent loosening. After removing the nuts the studs are non too tight. We can sort this as a matter of course (using double locknuts to tighten the studs in fully first) when supplying/fitting the GTT 'Stealth Sports Cat ', as we take it all off anyway. Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |

Offline | Had my car booked in for a bumper repair anyway, and they just called about the cat studs and also prop shaft nuts. While I'm there they are going to look into the fuel smell problems as well, probably the pump as per many other people's comments. Overall though, no other problems so far after nearly 8K miles.
