| Sparkling Silver R56 | Dash/Centre Console Vibration Hey guys Just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing a similar problem - When decelerating (foot off the throttle) in 2nd or 1st gear, somewhere within the centre console region comes a loud vibration type of sound. It seems to be a spontaneous sound, but usually happens 9 times out of 10 driving sessions. Most occasions louder than others. I brought my car to BMW to have it looked at. They called me yesterday and assured me that only their best techincian will be working on the car, and that he is currently removing the centre console (sat nav piece) and is trying to identify the problem. Today i get a call with bad news. This noise is nowhere to be found and BMW HQ has instructed the technicians to remove the entire dash. Not good. ![]() Anyone else with this problem? Thanks Mic |

| Sparkling Silver R56 | funny you ask! here's what i heard today - BMW diagnosed and fixed the problem. Apparantley the gromit that holds the aircon hose was not fitted correctly from the factory. Replaced the gromit and fixed! I then asked 'so its all good to go yeah' ? and their response was 'actually we've also noticed a slight rattle within the speedo area. The 'scale' as i like to call it. On the satnav version. ![]() |

Offline | I had a rattle there too - more of a buzzing sound around 2800 rpm caused by a vibration in the centre console. I took the left panel off (2screws in the footwell) and pulled the heater core out a little. It seemed to fit a bit loosely so I added some more foam rubber around the gasket. I haven't heard the buzzing since. |

| Sparkling Silver R56 | Yeah its a lot of cash. And to be honest 90% of the time its just on 3D map mode. However, it does look pretty cool and the program that runs it is unreal! The 'Scale' type speedo setup is a complete waste of time. They would've been better off making that temparture gauge or something else. Ok so your vibration is from the console itself? That does sound similar to mine. My new ticking sound is coming from the 'Scale' needle. That whole piece needs replacing. |

| Not a happy bunny. | well, i went for a spirited drive in the new forest today, and the roads aren't the best. all i could hear was this bloody vibrating from the speedo cluster, and from the drivers side door. needless to say the MINI's going into BMW ASAP to get it sorted. |

Offline | I'm suffering from the vibrating dash too. Gets worse when i've been over speed bumps. My only solution up until now is to turn the music up louder! So looks like it may be a trip to the dealer to get it sorted. |
