Offline | My R56 MCS is sometimes very notchy when changing from first to second (occasionally it may even make a grinding noise). Has been back to the garage a couple of times but they say there isn't a problem. Just a characteristic of the 6 speed box. It does, however, seem to be improving with age (now on 2500 miles). It's got 3 years warranty, so I'm sure if a problem does develop it will do within this time. |

Offline | It "should" go away the more miles you clock up - had this with my S when I first got it in January but it disappeared after the running in period and have'nt had any problem since..... ![]() |

Offline | I orignially had a different sound that warranted a new tranny......and since the new clutch (well remanufactured clutch) I have had the 3rd to 2nd squeal. it seems it's becoming a big problem. There are many threads on North American Motoring about it. As of right now my dealer is not sure what to do about it, but I will probably end up with another clutch. |

Online | My MCS gearbox is 'notchy' when changing gear but is OK once it has warmed up. Had a Civic Type-R which had the same problem but worse, but this was OK once it's warm. From what I gather from various forum's this problem applies to most FWD cars with 6-speed boxes. |
