Mini Cooper windows opening by themselves.

Hi guys. This is my first post. i recently got a 2nd generation mini in september 2007. I have had some minor problems with the passenger seat sliding back and speedo rattling, but today twice i found that both of my windows have wound down while the car has been closed up and alarmed. I do not have a window button on my fob so it cannot be doing it from my pocket. I see from the forums that this was a problem with mini's back in 2003 but has anyone else had this problem and if so how have you fixed it? For the moment i have removed the fuses but I cannot get the windows to seal properly when closed. Thanks guys. Yours, Ferengo.

The windows will roll down if you hold in the unlock button on your key fob, so I would guess that this might be your problem.

Had the same problem with my daughters mini ,windows would go down by themselves while just sitting (had to pull fuses also) and sometimes when driving. If you stand by the car for a bit can you hear a clicking coming from either of the doorswhen locked,we had a clicking coming from drivers door and had to replace central locking actuator and this solved the issue.

With the earlier mini's water was getting into the body control module, might be worth a look,if not it could be just faulty or a bad connection.

Ferengo, i get the same problem. The windows dont pop up now and again to seal when you close the doors. I have gone back to my car a number of times and found that the passenger window was half way down. Been back in twicw and they cant fix it (they say they dont know whats happening.)
