Clutch Click

Hey guys,

Could somebody please tell me if the following is a 'characteristic' of the R56 MINI:

When I let the clutch out, I get a slight click noise. When the clutch is in, and after it's been let out there is no noise at all, it's just on the point of release that you hear a small clicking noise for about a second. Is this normal? I only noticed it today when I had the window down and put the car into neutral and released the clutch. Thanks.

I am a victim of this with my R56 - has been in for a total of 5 full days and is still not fixed, currently in communication with MINI customer services. They dont seem to happy to admit liability witht he issue though!

I also have a problem with my 07 R56 Clutch, I am getting a squeaking noise each time the clutch is engaged, it's due to go to the dealers next Monday, is there anything I should point out to them before hand, a possible fix etc?

I get some kind of noise (almost sounds like it's coming from the middle or rear of the car?) when I let out the clutch of my '07 MCS. Doesn't sound like a "click" to me - more like the sound of something brushing against something else - but it's only at the moment you described (at the point of clutch release).

Don't remember hearing it when moving into the highest gear(s) - and maybe not even when downshifting into lower gears - but definitely hear it often when releasing the clutch to shift up in the lower gears.

Could be the same thing?
