United-Kingdom Sunroof sticking

Had the r56 back in at BM today to have the recall for the fuse for the cooling fan.
Also got them to look at the sunroof as ever since we got the car new (1 year ago today)
the sunroof has been sticking. Recently it would even open at all, they have fully lubricated the mechanism and it is marginally better, but is it is going back in next week for a replacement sunroof motor, as they didn't have one in stock

Anyone else had similar S/R probs!!

When I was testdriving, the demovehicle had the same problem, it did not open, I could hear the motor trying to, but nothing moved. very strange.

Next week I take delivery of my new Dooper with sunroof. Hopefully it works ok.

Tommy

Well the mini has been in today and still not got it back! they rang us this afternoon to say that they have replaced the motor but the sunroof is still sticking.

Now the dealership has ordered a whole new sunroof track assembly, as they now think the problem could there instead.

Lets see if it's all sorted by tomorrow

Doubt it

well, collected it from the dealer on friday and not happy at all.
The sunroof doesn't close flush with the roof on the front leading edge and because of this the rubber seal is under stress.
Also the black trim inside on the headlining hasn't been refitted properly and the housing where the sunroof switch is located won't stay in position properly ( keep falling down) it's as if some clips are broken!!
Off to Davis Holmes now in stockport to see if they have any R56's with sunroofs so that I can compare!!

By the way it wasn't DHolmes that have done this work

This really s*cks, seems like they made it worse!
Mine should be delivered this week, it's on its way to the dealer I've heard.
Apparently it is not a very common problem.

Yeah I suppose in a way it is worse!!

Checked out the minis locally at David holmes and the front edge of the sunroof is perfectly flush with the roof line.
Not had chance to get it back to the dealer who attempted to sort it out yet, I'll give them a call tomorrow and try and get it in there on friday.
Lets hope they can sort it out because this is the third trip back there now

I had a problem with my sunroof. I would have to keep flicking the toggle switch to get it to open and one day it opened and would not shut. I brought it to the MINI dealer and they ended up having to replace the whole sunroof because they could not get it closed either. Then they said that some condensation got into the electrical and they had to replace some electrical parts. My MINI was atthe dealer for 13 days. They did pay for a rental car for me though. My sunroof has worked great since they replaced it.
