Question Dashboard Lights

Anyone else had a problem with the lights on the dashboard?

They seem to keep going dim and then bright. Wondering if I have a bad connection.
It's not the dimmer switch to use in dark dribing as it happens when I do not have my lights on.
It's most noticable on the fuel gauge but seems to effect all light on the main speedo console (ie. cruise control light etc).

Anyone any ideas?

thanks

There is a light sensor on the rev counter that adjusts the brightness dependent on how bright it is. In bright sunlight for instance the lights will get brighter. cover the sensor up and you will see it change.

Does this sound like it could explain it?

As freddie said, probably is the light sensor. I have noticed the same thni in my Mini and when i covered the light sensor the lights dimmed.
