Servicing woes

Here are the facts:

For approx 1,000 miles my car has said service:0.

According to the trip computer it said oil change was not due for 3,000 and brakes for another 600.

Not sure why the service said 0 i took it to the dealer.

They took my keys and loaded up my cars info. Sure enough car said 600 miles til brakes, 3k til oil change. Lady goes out to my car to make sure it said service:0 and sure enough i was right.

She sends it to technician. He comes back and miraculously i have lost 600 miles of wear on my brakes and it now shows as 0. Technician denies ever doing anything.

I look like an idiot, Has anyone else encountered this problem? Service being at 0 but everything brakes and oil not due ?

I'm confused

Is the first service not just an oil change?

sorry it is quite confusing.

My cars service indicator came up as 0. Even tho brakes and oil were not due for many miles.

Took it to garage and the service desk couldn't work out why the service indicator said 0. Technician took the car and when he handed it back, the car was showing it needed new brakes (adjusted the 'how many miles til you need new brakes' from 600-700 to 0.

Surely the brakes (well pads and disks) needed changing when the wear indicators say so rather than a computer model says so??? The light on the dash can also mean fluid which comes on with a timer (every 2 yrs??)

my car has done 16k miles.

I got my brakes checked today by a 3rd party and my brakes have a good 2-3mm left. so they are good for another few hundred miles.

Did you not mean a few thousand miles?
