Hi

Can anyone help out there?

I noticed a scratch on the silver end cap of the handbrake lever.. any suggestions as to how to remove or can I get that particular part? I don't think it's a surface scratch because it's a black mark

The cap is part of handbrake handle, so I doubt you can buy it separately.

RealOEM - R56 Cooper PARKING BRAKE/CONTROL

See if your dealer will replace it under warranty.

What year is your car? The early cars (02) had the interior surfaces painted and they were easily scratched. You might be able to get it painted

Are you meaning the little button that you push to release or the chrome piece that abuts against the black handle itself? That cap just clips to the handle. I removed mine with pliers and a rag (I scratched it up but I was gonna toss it anyway). Some have pried it off with a small screwdriver. But I don't know how to get the end cap that you push off.

Then check out the current issue of Modern Mini magazine (March 2008). Page 44 describes and shows pics how to replace this part.
