Offline | Hello All, I've only got my Mini on the 24th and it's displaying me a warning "Increased Battery Discharge" and the car being raised. The clock and date gets reset. I will be taking it to my dealer tomorrow but I just wanted to know if anyone knows what this means or is about? Thanks. |

Offline | It means that while the car is in it's rest state, ie parked outside your house locked up, one of the control units keeps waking up the car causing a current draw on your battery thus discharging it. The clock is reset because the clever little IBS control unit (on the battery negative terminal) is telling a clever little relay that the battery is discharging to a point where engine start may be affected. in which case the clever little relay (called 30g_f, i think) cuts supply to all contol unit that arent needed for engine start. I'm willing to wager that the IBS is route of the problem. also, a quick note to anyone reading this.....when charging your battery, never put the negative clip directly onto the 10mm on the negatibe pole. this will damage the IBS. Everyone else is lying to you. stop giving out duff advice people! |
