Offline | Water in Boot ? just tidied up my boot, and removed the polystyrene holder for the jack, wheelbrace, etc to find about a quarter of an inch of water lying underneath ? anyone else had this problem ? and if so how was it fixed ? not a place that people would normally look, but worth checking to see if you have the same problem !! |

Offline | It's not uncommon ![]() Check around the 3rd brake light for any sign of a leak (a misted up lens would be a sure sign) - if this is a the cause, its a case of changing the unit - they're about £40-50 to buy new. If not, sit in the back, and get a handy helper to spray the car with a hose, and watch out for the leak. Best of luck, Jon ![]() |

Offline | Jon, had a look at the third brake light, but it's set behind the actual rear glass now. ( R56 cooper ), so I don't think that's where the problem is. I'll wait until the weekend and as you say may need to use a hose, thanks |

Offline | Oops - didn't notice it was an R56 thread!! ![]() In that case, check the seal between the boot and the main body - i've heard of water running off the roof into the bootlid panel gap, and into the boot... ![]() |

Offline | Water logged My Dec 56 Cooper has a soaking wet boot. Mini has confirmed that I need a new boot seal - now on order from Germany. Every time it rains or I wash my car water appears in the wheel repair kit & my pull away carpet is damp. Not good for such a young car! ![]() |

Offline | Repaired Boot Seal Just picked up my mini after having a new boot seal - new boot carpet is being put in next week. Fingers crossed this will stop the water getting in. But when I open up my boot in wet weather water seems to pour in from the boot door - does anyone else have this problem? ![]() |
