| Hmmmmm | I went to visit the Service Production Manager and Master Technician at the dealership today to discuss the issues I've had. As expected they were very apologetic and the Master Tech will be taking care of my car personally (allegedly). The Master Tech (with 10 years BMW experience) has only joined the dealership in the last few weeks so he definitely wasn't there when my car was picked up and he assured me he would sort the car out and check it all over properly. They also said that the staff in question who did the original work would be dealt with appropriately. I just want my car back. I've now been swapped out of the Astra I had from Enterprise Car Rental (via Mini Emergency) and into a BMW 116 from the dealership. Apparently the main part I require needs to be got from Germany and will get to the dealer on Thursday at earliest. 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |

Offline | How they deal with complaints like that remains to be seen! Im still waiting for a callback from about 3 weeks ago, from where I complained about the fact my car came back worse than when it went in! Doesnt look like im gonna get it ![]() Least your back in a decent car again (albeit not your MINI) ![]() |

| Hmmmmm | I'm still going to compose a letter to Mini Customer Services, detailing the events so that they are aware of what happened. I will let the the dealer fix it and give a fair assessment to Customer Services. I noticed today I still had the Customer Satisfaction Survey I got in the post a few weeks ago - I'm glad I didn't sent it off earlier now! It's not bad. Nice and smooth and quiet but the 116 is pretty underpowered. It'll just make the Mini seem really fast again when I get it back! ![]() 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |

| Hmmmmm | I actually got it back last night. They have replaced the pipe, replaced the stripe that was badly fitted, and done as many tests on it as they (apparently) could. They have compression tested the engine (no problems), checked the fault computer (nothing registered) so they are happy no other issues were caused when the problem happened. I did noticed though that one of the new stripes that was fitted still wasn't fitted well - where one of the viper stripes came by the edge of the bonnet scoop it was not a straight line and had a slight jagged edge. I could be classed as 'picky' but when spend that much money on a car you expect things to be fitted properly, and with care. I'm going to start keeping a log of things that have happened on what dates as I somehow feel these few issues won't be the last. How is yours now you have it back? Offline | Just thought i'd add my experience to this. My new standard S went back to my dealer the day after i collected it with coolant problems. The tank was totally devoid of any coolant fluid!! Fortunately i had only driven 3 miles to work and i insisted MINI came to inspect the car as it stood at work. They came and took it away and returned it the same day "with no apparent faults" Since then, i've had a constant bubbling noise from the coolant every time i park up, although the level has remained consistant in the tank and no other major problems (except the cold start noise) have materialised ![]() www.kaesminiclub.com |

| Hmmmmm | I was getting the "water noise behind left side of dash" issue about 2 weeks before the pipe was burned through - they said it was probably air in the systerm and that it should be resolved as part of fitting this new pipe and refilling/bleeding the system. Interestingly, the Master Tech did say that he thinks they had changed the design of this pipe (from the turbo, downwards to somewhere or other) since I got it so maybe there was a known problem and a design change was made... 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works |

Offline | Yes, do write down everything that has happened, everyone that you have spoken to, you never know when you might need it! Ive done exactly this from day one of owning the car when it went back to the workshop within 30 minutes, up to date! Im on 3 pages so far ![]() Mine seems to be ok, the clutch feels a little different, but the stop/start appears to be working ok at the moment, but to be honest ive got very little trust in it, to the point I hate it when it cuts out now, wondering if its going to start again or not!! ![]() |
