| MINI2 Newbie | Paintwork/bodykit problems on new Cooper S Having previously praised my new Cooper S in other forums I have spotted a couple of issues with the quality of the paintwork and bodkykit fitting on my car. Having been unwell over the weekend, today is the first chance I've had to drive and indeed inspect my new car fully. I have spotted a mark in the paint on the panel above the rear number plate, also and even more annoying is that the rear bumper from my JCW bodkit isn't fitted level. This appears to be due to a lump in the paint/panel of the car below the rear light near the wheel arch. It is actually really noticeable now and from closer inspection would appear that the technicians were aware of this when fitting as I can see how they have tried to make it fit around this (somewhat unsuccessfully!). I would like advice on whether I simply reject the car or ask that it be repaired. I imagine both problems would be easy to repair, but I am most upset that having spent so much on the car these defects are present at all. Has anyone experienced similar issues and if so how did you handle and indeed resolve them? |

Offline | My JCW Side Skirt had been broken by the body shop on fitting it to my new Dooper before I picked it up Took 5 visits to get it fixed properly!! But we got there!I'd take it back and get them to fix it, you cant reject the car without giving them a chance to fix the problem, lord knows I know about these things after recent events! |

Offline | Rejection is virtully impossible for these faults after collectionof the vehicle, as they are cosmetic. rejections are usually only considered if the vehicle is not "fit for purpose" and that the dealer / manufacturers have been given the opportunity to rectify / replace the damaged areas. I would recommend you speak to the dealership and insist that they rectify the faults to your satisfaction and provide you with a courtesy car while yours is back with them. if you "create" a bit you may even get some mild form of compensation, like full tank of fuel etc. good luck! ![]() JCW Sound Kit No. D0641 |
