Offline | May seem silly but... I was disappointed that the indicator "ticking" noise has been changed. It's no longer "classic mini like", and is a more conventional, even hollow click, click, click noise. I really liked that touch with the current MINI. The toggles in both banks on the prototypes had no lights on the ends like the current model, another nice touch gone. The DSC button (and sport mode etc) are in front of the gear lever now, in a small cluster of three buttons. The roof liner has been changed a little and gives the impression of more room. Rear seats are much more comfortable than the current rear seats. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Paul, The MINI has had two click noises already BTW. The only reason I know this is because my 2003 S had a faulty speedo. This was replaced with the latest speedo and has a different click sound to the original. It is a subtle difference though and sounds like the change you're talking about is a bit more major. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | Yep. And it's one adjuster for both mirrors, on the drivers side. Seems a backward move to me, and also more expensive as they'll need LHD and RHD versions of each piece. |

Offline | It looks terrible there! ![]() It's maybe a more logical place to put it, but then again, it is such a seldom used thing that it really doesn't need to be in such a visible place! ![]() |

Offline | Looks like the mirror adjustment is in a similar place to a Ford Focus - not a good move IMHO. I know what you mean about the indicator noise Paul, for some reason I find it very nice getting in my Park Lane and hearing a very similar tick to the one in my classic MPI Cooper. The little things do matter and I agree that a tick that's like other 'modern' cars is a definite retrograde step - let's hope that's changed by the time it reaches production! | I am not a number!! | I prefer the mirror adjustment there, and if the wipers operate like the 1 series then its a move on which is good for me ![]() But I would prefer the lights on the ends of toggles and on the control arms too like the current car Its only a forum you know! ![]() |

Offline | It would be good however if they have introduced the "overtake" mode of the indicator you know just touch the stalk and it will flash three times and then canel it self. really like that on my other cars. Cooper D (2007) |

| MINI2 Regular | This is probably MINI responding to criticisms that the controls are "not intuitive." Personally, I liked how the MINI was different and I've gotten used to the new locations, and find them excellent. They may not be good for a person who jumps in a MINI for ten seconds, but for someone who spends a lot of time in the car, they are no problem. |

Offline | Isn't the indicator click sound all done in software and speakers (not old-fashioned mechanical relay clicking)? I do know that the current MINI's inidicator sound was changed to be louder during a software update. It could easily be changed again... |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | There is a sounder in the central speedo currently that performs the click and bong sounds. However the sound appears to be built into the speedo otherwise it wouldn't have changed when mine was replaced. Admittedly though the volume could be controlled outside of the speedo by the BCU. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |
