new location for CD changer

just found this pic on the new mini website showing where the changer is located. i wonder if that reverts back to a cubby hole if you dont spec the changer?

I wonder if this means there isn't a glove box below. Hopefully if I don't opt for the CD player (which I won't), that space will certainly be a lot bigger to hold other things.

If you don't opt for the CD changer, pics on the German mini site seem to indicate there's an airbag there, glovebox is definitely below the colour line.

The airbag is where it is on the current cars, in the dash top above that section.

I would hope it becomes a cubby... it would also be a great place to stash an ipod connector! My only concern with this design is that it looks like it would be prone to rattle!

This would be a great place to put a decent stereo in as well to do away with the integrated one and it's totally hidden from thieves, just a little ackward to get to

It was acceptable in the 80's
