Offline | Ipod and Radio Boost Hi, This is my first post here - so be gentle guys n' gals :-D Ok, I am just thinking about ordering a new Cooper later this week (If the wife likes the drive of it!) It appears that the Radio Boost allows the use of an ipod - I would love this to be plug and play, but of course it looks like you need "an interface" cable. Its seems that BMW/MINI want to charge the earth for this - and I just wondered if its a standard cable or whether it really is a specific cable? Any help/comments would be appreciated on this. Thanks Celtic |

Offline | Hi, The spec of the websites says an aux input cable, I'd guess this is the same as other BMWs, so is simply a 3.5mm jack that feeds the headphone output into the audio system in the car. Full automation with steering wheel control and display on headunit will probably cost more or be aftermarket. Regards Paul; |

Offline | Hi Simon, Yes you might be right, but the deal is a good one and besides I am not so sure that I like the new shape having seen the pictures etc.I'll take it now, and then I can start enjoying it! Offline | Can control from multifunction St/Wheel. Goes in glovebox. Must be 5th Generation I-Pod. Dealer fit £180 inc VAT fitted. Costly! Edit - Only taken the 5th Gen from the spec sheet. Wonder why its stated if it works with others? Last edited by Chris.F : Sep 30th, 2006 at 02:15 PM. |

Offline | I had the iPod link put in mine, the iPod can controlled from the radio & steering wheel....Also my iPod is an 4th gen Mini 6GB and works fine. I did get the connection as a freebie as its £170 option....much better than having a Aux point with no control. |

Offline | Yeah iPod sits in the glovebox and is controlled the same way a CD changer is used. Disc 1 - to Disc 5 is for you own types of playlists ie disc 1 - rock, disc 2 - dance.....etc and disc 6 is the entire ipod music collection...you can also put the ipod on random....which is useful. |
