Ireland Heated Screen

HEATED SCREEN?

Not sure about Visibility pack,I was ordering everything in it bar the heated screen so put it down on my spec but would like to know what people think of the heated screen in current model?
Do you notice the 'lines' in the screen? Even at night?
If you wear glasses, are you 'drawn' to the lines?
It's only €90 over what I was ordering but want to know if it's good or not.
Thanks in advance,
Fergal.

Yes, but usually only in bright sun. 90% of the time (probably more) I forget they're there.

No, although I don't wear my glasses all the time (but having them on does not seem to make the lines any more apparent).

heated front screen is great

yes you notice it at 1st but then you forget about it - I never notice it at all now - except on freezing winter evenings when I leave work and everyone else is scrapping their screens - where as mine just clears in seconds with the press of a button

I've just got this feature back after not having it on my last two MINIs, and I'm so glad I have with winter coming!

After 8 years with Ford having 'Quickclear' (as they call it) on every car I drove I soon missed the speed and convenience of de-icing in the morning, and I certainly don't notice the lines in the screen at all.

Worth every penny (O.K, cent!) of the 90 Euros!

Thanks for replies Minisoopercooper and Scrogg.
Will probably go for it now alright.
I had a heated screen in a rental Rover 600 back in 1997 when I was touring Scotland and while everyone was out scrapeing their screens after overnight snow, 5 minutes later crystal clear

Scrogg, are you down South or up North?

Fergal.

Hi Fergal,

I'm down South, but the wrong side of the sea now after my parent's dragged me over here twenty-odd years ago. I was born in Wexford (Dad's home town) but grew up in Ballymoney (Mum's) and still come back whenever I can (which is nowhere near often enough!)

I'm still flying the flag though, as you can see!

I've posted this on another thread already. You can see them, and the time you'll see them most is at night on country lanes with oncoming lights. But it's not really an issue as you "look beyond them". If you park outside in the winter the good points far outweigh the bad in my opinion.
