I-Pod Griffin I-Trip

Noticed the Griffin I-Trip Auto advertised in the Sunday Papers - plugs into cigarette lighter and uses FM to play via stereo. £30 at John Lewis.

Anyone thoughts/experiences? Looks good value on face of it. Still illegal to use in UK but about to change?

I used to have a griffin Itrip and the sound quality is really poor. Im not sure if its the same for all radio transmitters but there is so much interferance from other radio signals that there is always a bit of static in the background. Much better idea to buy an aux in or something similar imo.

I too had a Griffin iTrip & it was rubbish - the sound was v poor & it kept cutting out all the time.

I threw it away & had the MINI interface fitted instead, which works just fine now

Thanks for the info. Glad i've ordered the i-pod link now even at £180! Had just wondered IF it was wasted cash.

You posted this in the 2nd Gen (R56) forum... I thought the R56 comes with aux input as standard? Also the new BMW iPod adapter for the R56 should be a big improvement over the current version and much better integrated with the headunit.
