If you have the stereo playing, will it cut out when the voice for the navigation system come on? Or, do they both blare at the same time?

Thank goodness, they now give those of us in the states the choice to use the British voice for the navigation than the plainer sounding one. It used to be you had to perform a hack to get the British voice added to the system.

depends on the build date of the MINI, the nav used to just cut into the stereo and make its announcement, but I think it was from about Sept 04 that it then did a fade in over the stereo.

As for the new R56, I think that is also the fade in approach with no cut out to your music.
