Colour Line

What do you guys think of the colour line option?

I have the pacific blue colour line on order but i shall be removing it v. soon because i think its going to look really tied very quickly and is OTT on blue. Plus scratchs/marks where your keys are dangling will show up much much more.

So my spec will be Lightning blue body, fluid silver and pacific blue/ray cloth - gray chili pack standard colour line.

I think colour coding the interior makes it looker cheaper and takes away some of the class. I also feel that the more it is personalised, the harder it will be to sell on (if that is something that would concern you).

Ive gone for exactly the same, blue seats, fluid silver and leaving the grey colour line, i reckon that going for the blue colourline would be too much!

This may prove to be a stupid question, but why order (and pay extra for!) something you plan to remove?

Why not just go with the FOC alternative?

At the time of ordering i said it was to much blue but the sales guy persuaded me to have it. Now i have had a time to evaluate it i think i should have said no from the outset plus I wont be paying extra when i remove it. (very soon because i shall do it t.m. or tuesday depending on my free time while at work)

Free of charge (or in chili pack) is black/grey door and blue half leather. So i am just paying more for the silver door trim.

The colour line in blue is "recommended" in the brochure if you have the blue seats, so i think that is why they are pushing it.

Sorry esxollie, I misread your post that you would be physically removing it from your car, not from your order before you get it!

I'm thinking of ordering a new S soon.

If I'm understaning correctly the 'colour line' is an option to change the knee roll and door arm-rests to a different colour (red, blue, yellow etc).

If I don't want any of those colours and just want standard grey, I take it I'm not charged £90?

I'm sure when I had a (admittedly very brief) chat with my dealer he wanted to charge £90 whatever colour I chose, even plain old grey.

I ordered the brushed alloy with the grey colour line, just think it will look good with the chrome interior and it will give it that extra bling

You are correct Faz, but Dark Grey Colour Line is still £90.00.

Dependant on the upholstery you have chosen, you may not have a choice but to pay, as a Colour Line is standard with any part or full leather option.

If you stick with just cloth upholstery you can opt not to have any form of Colour Line and save the £90.00. If you do this, you will still have the grey knee roll and door armrests, but they will be harder plastic, like the dashboard and door cards.

I'm amazed at all these people speccing dark grey colour line, I know it's a matter of taste but a coloured one is a unique feature that really lifts the interior, and in the flesh it looks very classy. It's not going to scratch either. Each to their own I guess...
