Question colour line how soft and better?

I have read here and at the official MINI sites some seemingly conflicting info on the colour line vs. the standard lower dash and armrests. I would think the colour line is just a bit higher quality feeling cover over basically the same part. To anyone that has touched and seen both can you answer these questions.

1. How soft is the colour line? Is it just a layer of softer/better vinyl over the standard parts?

2. Are both the standard lower dash and armrest just hard molded plastic with no softness or do they have some give to them?

3. The US configurator shows the dark grey colour line as being just a bit lighter in color than standard. How do the colors look in the real world?

In your opinion, having seen both, is the colour line option a must have l or just a matter of preference as the standard is good also?

Thanks!

I asked the same thing a few days ago, and I´ve been told that if no colourline is speced the kneeroll and door armrest is in hard plastic. Never seen it by myself though.

I didn't spec any colourline, and my kneeroll and door rest don't feel like hard plastic. Looks the same as the grey colourline to me.

Would you happen to have pictures of your interior? Particularly interested in pics of std color line. Sorry if I missed pics you posted -- searched for some but could not find any.

has a new review of the Cooper S. It has several interior shots - some of which show parts of of the Dark Grey Colorline option. The second picture under 'Backseat' also gives an idea of the color transition from the window opening down to the upper part of the cabin (no anthricite headliner option).
