Hi,

Apologies this is so long... please bear with it!

I sent a lot of cash getting very good component speakers, 2 Genesis Amps (2 channel) , a box to take 'pre-out' feed from BMW head unit and 2 under seat subs for my BMW 1 series. I am about to order a Cooper S, and have been advised by the shop who did my car audio to NOT buy the HiFi upgrade, but to reuse (most of) what I have. I am sure its better quality (it costs a fortune) but I think i could only reuse:

- Speakers (if adaptor made)
- 2 amps (will they fit? hidden in the boot or under front seats)
- pre out box (i assume mini head unit doesnt have pre outs)

I cant imagine being able to use the subs (which on a BMW go under the front seats).

The worry for me is, I cannot afford to lose boot space. Its tiny! I have seen a mini with the hifi system and the amp fits into the boot (left side). I think my 2 genesis amps might fit, but they both have fans so im not sure about them over heating. has anyone squeezed 2 amps back there?

Also, I guess would need to buy new 6*9s for the back of the mini (to act as subwoofers), and pay a lot of labout for this guy to do the work (of stripping BMW, then fitting into Mini). So its going to be a little pricey...

Has anoyone fitted decent aftermarket kit to a R56 that doesnt have the HiFi upgrade? Can it all be hidden? My 2 genesis amps are very thin, but the car audio guy's first reaction was to build a fake floor in the boot... that will take away vital space!
