With the storage pack you get an additional compartment behind the dash panel above the glove box. If you don't have the storage pack it will just be a panel which is fixed, with the storage pack it opens.

No, the storage door won't help you. What you want is an iPod dock connector/charger that plugs into the lighter, holds the iPod in a cradle, charges it and allows you to plug into the Aux input to play it. That way the sound comes from the dock, not the headphone jack (better). Look on iLounge.com for it. They have tons of ipod accessories and reviews.

Hi Mikey, why is it only suitable for the non storage pack R56, does it catch on the ipod mount when it opens?

Yes it does, + the top lip of the mount is supposed to clip behind that panel so it works loose when weight is added. A guy in the USA says he has used one but I tried again last week and defo wouldn't recommend it if you have storage pack

The no holes mount you have in the pic above Mikey, have you or anyone else used this with a TomTom One unit? I have just bought a TT One V3 and want to mount it there, just wondered how well it fits and if it can get a good enough view of the sky to work properly. I'd rather not use the suction cup on the windscreen.

Try a proclipusa mount -- great mounts that do not require permanent attachment.

Doesn't anyone use the front cup holders for mobile phone and ipod? Works really well for me, but then I don't care about seeing the screens whilst driving.
