Yeah man this is programmed at the dealers. If you've got a sunroof or a convertible then they open also.

It's not possible to close from the remote due to health and safety rules but if you put the key in the lock and hold it at the lock position then the windows/sunroof/roof will close

unfortunately you can't but them back up by using the remote - you have to put the key in the lock and turn and hold it to raise them again. you can lower them this way too

There is a key which inserts into the base of the fob. Press the little silver button on the back of the fob and the key will slide out from inside.

If you have the Comfort access you can also close them all by holding the little rubber button on the door handle (with your keys outside the car in your pocket or bag)

Now proud owner of a 2007 Cooper S!

That's a bit pointless isnt it?
Why doesnt the "lock" button on the fob do the job?

LOL I tried this on my mini the other day for the first time and it worked!!! So I showed my other half today, said 'look at this trick' and wowed him with the windows opening etc, but then he said 'can;t see you getting any use out of that' to which I replied 'well I've just used it now haven't I?!'

feature is useful for letting out hot air if the car has been in the sun, plus also, if the car is parked in a tight space (car park) with the door opening restricted so the windows down features helps you climb in with a small opening (you can lean over the door itself with window down!)

You can purchase a module that will allow you to put the windows up via the lock button. as far as I've seen, it works on the MINI.

I have it on my G35,and plan to move it to the MINI when it arrives.
