Offline | HiFi - how to identify if you have it? How can you tell if you have the HiFi kit fitted? Is it the only kit to come with tweeters in the A pillar? IIRC the 1st gen HK kit had extra settings on the head unit, my hifi kit doesn't seem to have anything different at all. |

Offline | I need to ask ..... who REALLY puts their car stereo on full anyway? I have the HiFi and if you put it up deafening levels (and I mean deafening) it distorts, but I wouldn't expect it not to! Who listens to it that loud? Less than 1% of mini owners would be my guess. ![]() |

| Trained Monkey | Mine buzzed and sounded bad at high, but not deafening high levels, and this was will a cross section of music. Annoyingly including Abbey Road, which is still one of my favourite sing-a-long in the car albums. When they replaced the speaker(s) though, it wasn't a problem. At full volume? Couldn't tell you, never got there! |

Offline | if your car has hi-fi, besides the tweeter A-pillar speakers, you will find an amplifier in the boot hidden in the left side hatch covered by the trim panel - go check it out! |

| Wanted an Audi | If you increase both bass and treble by the same amounts it will just increase the overall volume. I'm going off a club mixer here but that also has a mid. I figure that the bass and treble eq's must have a wide band, so should have the same effect. Try treble at 0 and then go down 1 at a time with the bass. If you find that bass is "handling better" you can the change the treble if you think it sounds dull. Just a case of solving one problem at a time. On another note the Hi-Fi is pants IMHO ![]() |

| Wanted an Audi | Isn't PMPO just made up? I know RMS is the true reading. I might measure mine is db at the volume it distorts. P.S The Syndicate in Blackpool was pushing over 160db on the Dance Floor, and its legal (providing the staffed areas ie bars are at the advised level) |

Offline | I know what you meant, but my statement still stands. The STD goes plenty loud enough for most people - albeit not the best quality. If you really want good clear sound at ANY volume, then the Mini options are obviously not for you - Give Mikey a ring ![]() |

Offline | Thanks for explaining that. I found it a few days ago and hadn't gotten around to posting a question. Probably because I didn't want to look like an idiot for not knowing what it was. ![]() |
