Offline | Hi all I picked up my Mini Cooper S with all the bells and whistles a mans heart could desire (apart from the cooper works engine upgrade) Got the Car charger for my new Bluetooth phone, and the multifunction steering wheel to allow me to answer and call with the buttons on the wheel. Not to mention the NAV system to allow me to see my address book. (I make ALOT of calls from my car as it is the only way to make the most of traffic jams and long journeys) But it seems that somehow you have to order Bluetooth integration from the factory, and this was not specified to me. So you can imagine my disappointment when the dealer said - it was not on the quote and it is a factory option thus not retro-fittable. He said that he will look into it if there is anything that they can do. This does now sorta feel like a Cake without the cherry. ![]() Would anyone know if it is possible to retro-fit the Bluetooth kit? (and some details if possible) I have the feeling that it cant be that hard to do - Wire up the steering wheel - install Bluetooth module - flash the car nav system - and done) And if not what is a good second choice ? (looking for something that works well and integrates invisibly) Would really like some info on this as i would LOVE to have this final option built in... |

Offline | Let me clear the Mind reading funnies... I discussed the phone option with them, and during the quote we put in the charger and the multifunction steering wheel, but it was never pointed out that i needed a Bluetooth kit. And now i am stuck and it seems that it "cant" be retro fitted. |

Offline | We had the same problem with our US R56. We were led to believe that with nav and the MFSW, bluetooth was included. NOPE. I did speak with the US BMW corporate aftermarket parts manager at a luncheon after a run at our dealer. (The US Corp offices ar 15 minutes away from the dealership so factory reps usually show up for functions). The rep did explain that he has been working on it since so many people ordered their R56s incorrectly. It is not that easy since the radio and nav are built on a closed-loop fiberoptic system. BMW is looking into it. There is a Parrot 3100 that is available for the R56, but with an add-on screen. |

Online | I would have thought it should be retro fitable but ££££ There is always the parrot evo with MFSW interface - no screen, but links through the stereo & MFSW NewMINIStuff.com The main difference is it doesnt display on the nav screen but it does work with more phones |

Offline | What is it which makes retro fitting the factory USB / Bluetooth so expensive? I've been trawling through realoem.org looking for all the parts and cant see anything too hard? I cant find any wiring though? The main loom is std to all vehicles, the only dash loom is for the Nav option and the other loom parts cover nav options? So far the list includes MFSW (already got that though) Roof trim panel with Mic integrated Armrest RealOEM.COM * BMW R56 Cooper ARMREST, FRONT Antenna and base RealOEM.COM * BMW R56 Cooper SINGLE PARTS F ANTENNA Phone eject box?
