| Sparkling Silver R56 | R56 Key Remote Programming Heys Guys Is anyone out there experiencing problems with programming the remote control key for the R56? What i'm specifically referring to is the feature to personalise each remote control. Here is the problem i'm experiencing > After turning on the ignition (pressing the start/stop button with clutch depressed) or with engine on, i briefly press the trip computer button until i have SET/INFO. I then hold button and enter the new menu with my "supposed' options. This is where the problem is... i have no options. I don't have the options as per manual.... a picture of a key with a tick running across it! All i get is a time & date option and service info!! its really annoying!! Is this because of aussie spec? Support would be great! Thanks Mic |

Offline | What settings are you trying to change? From memory I can change most settings both with the engine running or not... as long as the key is in and the start button pressed. Might be more settings to play around with when the start button is pressed without the clutch, will have a check a bit later... ![]() |

Offline | Just checked... I get to set all options with the engine running or not after inserting key and pressing start button. There is the Service info, tyre indicator reset, key with measurement, key with tick, and the time and calender settings. Hope this helps. ![]() |

Offline | Make sure you select the correct option. There is one with a little ruler symbol and one with a tick. The ruler is for setting things like miles or km, the ruler one is for setting programming options. I can't remember whether you need the engine off or on, you certainly can't change things if you are moving! Red/Black R56 Cooper |

| Sparkling Silver R56 | ok with the aux on or off, or engine on or off.. no matter which combination i use i have none of these options. my only options are; - time & date that's it! bizarre ah. i wonder why this is. my 2nd remote only has 1 click for the half blinker setting. i want to change it to 3 and i can't. i'll have to ring BMW tomorrow. |

| Sparkling Silver R56 | you know when you hit the blinker half way, as the manual would put 'to the first pressure point'. well you can program how many times you would like the inidicator to flash, from 1 - 5. my default key is set to 3 standard. my spare is on 1. I want to change to 3 using the set/info menu. but i can't ![]() does that make sense ![]() |

| Sparkling Silver R56 | Operator error ay... hehehehhe. ![]() you know what... after spending over an hour trying to work this thing out i started questionining my sanity and my ability to understand a simple manual and technology. After looking at Hummer2k1 pics and info, i am now assured that my settings are resticted. i don't have these options. truly. i will keep you informed of the outcome. regards Mic |

Offline | Is it just the spare key resticting you or both keys? I haven't tried my spare key since getting the car so not sure if the settings are restricted for that key. I'm pretty sure there are no restrictions for either key. ![]() |

Offline | damned! ![]() come and see me, i ll show you ![]() thats weird, why would they restrict the settings? did u ask your dealer? about the spare key, i dont think there is any restriction with it, because in the manual, they say we can program each key thru the setting menu |
