Maybe dumb question, but how do I connect my iPod to the aux port in dash?

What type of wire thingy do I need to have to connect my iPod to the stereo using the standard fitment aux port in the dash, under the toggle switches?

I have a 3mm (?) wire jack thingy that I got with my Pod, but it doesn't seem to do the trick?!

Am I being thick??

You need a male-to-male wire to plug into the aux jack and your iPod headphone jack.
It will have the same end that your earbuds/headphones wire has on both ends.
Try to find a good quality wire at a stereo store or order one online.
They're often referred to as "mini audio plugs".
A cheap wire will result in sound distruptions and/or difficulty with your connection.

3.5mm Stereo Jack to 3.5mm Stereo Jack lead is what you need, as commonly used for computers to connect to external speakers etc.

Logic 3 cable fits bottom of ipod connector and into Aux in car, some people forget to press the Audio buttom and move to AUX setting and select. I had 3.5 to 3.5 cable and was not pleased mine winds back in its sely very handy

BMW sell one for £12 that has an aux fitment one end and the other is plugs into where your ipod charger fits as opposed to where your headphones go, much better fit as I found that I got crackling with a male to male lead if the ipod was knocked.

Hope this helps.
