Hi,

Newbie here.

I've been struggling hard to find out how the actually ipod interface works and how to use the radio control buttons to navigate around. As u guys say, it is a pricey piece of kit and want to make sure I will get what I want.
Dealers and Mini customer services have all given me contradictory info - saying this is for previous ipod interfaces etc

Anyway what i normally would use my ipod for is to shuffle tracks but I like the option to repeat 1 track if I come across a track I want to play repetitively until I am bored of it and then I go back to shufle mode.

Is this just a simply button to press from shuffle to repeat 1 track to shuffle again?
I am enquiring for the new ipod interfaces for a 07/57 plate.

Also I hear the CD1 would be for the playlists. How do I navigate down the playlist? Is this via a simple up/down button?

Any info on how this ipod interface actually works would be great.

Hiya

I have R56 Mini with Sat Nav with Ipod Interface, so I'm not sure exactly how navigation works if you dont have SatNav, but I have access to all playlists / artisists / albumns / songs / via CD1 / 2 etc - cannot remember which CD does what.

I use the joystick button thing to move up and down tree / select songs etc.

Works pretty well, you have option to use random / non random various things really

good thing would be to see one in action

I've nagged the dealers constantly to try to get them to give me a demo of one working but the say they'll never have one in, and if they fit on it, it'll be on a customer's car so I can't use it.

Any idea about the repeat 1 track function?
Dealer says he doesn't think this exists, but mini customer services says it does.

I have the ipod interface on my R56 MCS. When on random, if I want to repeat the song I just press the back button on the MFSW.

I can repeat 1 track for hours, so pressing the back button all the time would just be a pain.

Surely, so would listening to the same track for hours

I don't think Mini included the single track repeat function because it would only appeal to very few people

Does the iPod integration on the R56 Mini (no Nav) have the track name and title on the radio screen or does it just simply show a track number, nothing else?

You can scroll through to get the name of the track and the artist

so it is possible to get track details on the radio screen on cars with NO Navigation? Is this the DICE unit or the BMW issued iPod kit?

This is with the MINI ipod kit in an R56. When I said scroll, I meant that you press a button to go to the next level of detail. So if the display shows a track number you can go to the next level which is the name of the track that is playing. But you can scroll through the tracks by turning the centre knob the press it if you like to select another track.

A press of a button shows the artist for a given track.

I just brought home my MINI this week, and I can only get the iPod adapter to show one of my playlists. I'm wondering if there is any special way that you're supposed to set up your playlists (i.e., no spaces, no punctuation, etc.) in order to get them to show.
