Bottom of Centre Console - what fits in here?

What do I buy to fit in the gap in front of the lighter socket below the bottom row of switches? I can see that something is supposed to go in there by the rubber lugs either side. On the older mini there is a centre console storage set that you can buy - this looks like a different shape - Is there a new version for the R56?

At the moment this is just wasted space.

P.S. Sorry to use my first posts to ask questions - but I did a search and couldn't find my answer.

yeah there is a little tray available.
you should be able to get it through any MINI dealer, and I believe it's in the accessories catalogue.

There was one on ebay a while back, I missed out on it

That's OK, I've been in to the local dealers and ordered one (delivered next Tuesday) - will cost me just under £5 when I pick it up. - Makes you wonder why they don't fit it as standard.
That bloke on Ebay made quite some profit on that one.

Its a shame they don't make a small cover for this area, then you could leave your iPod plugged into the USB connector and keep it hidden!!

There is no wonder these storage trays are popping up on flea bay. Bought mine last week for £4.45 inc. VAT. and took it out as soon as i fitted it. It's too tight, doesn't fit nicely leaving a 'high' floppy side on either side.................poorly conceived design.

I could sell it on flea bay for a profit though

Amazing how some muppets will pay more for something than they can get it for from the stealer

Could you please take a picture with it in place, so I can see how it looks when fitted, to see if it is worth buying.

Thanks
Tom.

From the photos posted in reply #16, I cant see anything on it that look wrong.

A bit OT but Griffer when you got the JCW Floor Mats were they bright white or were they the off white they are in the photos?

Tom.

If you look closely at the first pic you can see how it 'bunches' at the back. And both sides are flimsy and 'bunch' up too. It can not be trimmed to address these issues either.

Cheap item in both price and function.

If you push it firmly into place, it should fit just fine.
