Snap Poll - Full Leather or Half Leather

As titled really - and seeing as Gordon Brown won't hold an election or poll!! -

Have done some reading and searching but still can decide. - Going to finalise my spec tomorrow - a finance is all sorted now -

Half Leather is more sporting - the cloth grips better

Full Leather looks better -

But which should I spec - it will be the car is Lighting Blue/Black JCW with Anthracite headliner and Piano black trim - Pacific Blue Colour line for dash and arm rests.

Help me decide

Difficult decision!

I am happy with my part (not really 1/2 in the R56) leather seats.

Your car will be pretty dark if you go for full leather black seats, so maybe the ones with blue bits would look good.

Red/Black R56 Cooper Stripes, CHILLI, ASC+T, MINI HiFi, Piano Black Dash, Red Colour Line, Heated Mirrors/Jets, Spare Wheel, Smoker Pack!
Mods - Cooper S pedals, Cheqered interior mirror, chrome side repeaters

I am quite happy with 1/2..or should I say 1/4 leather.....but then again I have 2 kids seats in the back so no point in paying for full for it just to be stretched with the seats sitting on top....

Blue bits on the 1/4 leather would look good..

I'm still busy speccing...

...but will decide for half leather, because I get really warm in the summer.

I am not really a big fan of the colours either.

One thing that keeps on my mind, though, is the leather bit in the middle - is that for nervous passangers or something? (I do like it, so don't worry)

Full leather is a must on the R56.

Well the alternative isn't half leather is it !, it should be called 1/6th leather.

Not really worried about the cost - just about what really is best. - Went for another drive in the dealers JCW yesterday - it has "half leather" - was really grippy - only worry is that full leather will have me sliding.

Maybe they've improved the fit on the new ones ,but I have to say on the first gen I always thought it looked baggy and not taught enough over the seats,( no jokes please )if they havent improved this I would certainly go for half leather

I don't slide around and i'm a slim build.

Regarding the bagginess, again i'm only 12 stone but my seats are fine with just the 'usual' slight stretching of the bottom seat pad.

The 1/6th leather also seems to 'tug' at the stiched seams with the cloth on every car i've seen. This doesn't seem to be as prevalent on full leather.

I speccd part leather on my R56 S back in September 2006 before any cars/samples were available and I wish I had gone with full leather. The new seats are more fabric than leather and look like an attempt to save cash on Minis part.

I have the punch leather and never have any problems with slipping at all. After 13,000 miles and almost daily use its still looking good.

I have half leather, mainly because I noticed the "bagging" on the full leather but like others have said this may have now improved.

I'd go half leather personally - I don't think the cost of the leather is worth it.

Unless you're talking JCW seats.... then leather

Ive had 2 R56 Cooper S one with full leather one without

The punch leather looks much nicer. I am 81/2 Stone and don't slide around at all

Go with the full leather every time and the heated seats you'll love them in the winter, mine are geting used every day now!

Leather is cold in the winter, and hot in the summer - cloth is the better solution by far
