This will not be cheap as it involves a lot of work and a certain degree of risk.

The dash lights are not simple light bulbs which you can change. They are very tiny LED lights (I believe) and are permanently soldered on to the fixtures. So, changing the dash colours will involve taking apart most of the dash, if not all; de-solder the existing lights and then solder back on new ones. During this whole process one will have to make sure the soldering is spot on or else you might damage other electrical items near the lights electrical board.

Believe me I have seen this in action and Si is THE MASTER of the art of Dash Lighting.

Some of the work he has done recently will blow yer socks off.

Like anything unique for the Mini, my work included, and with many, many very happy customers Si has created something unique for every Mini owner should they wish.

And its all customisable to your car - making every project totally unique.

Amazing!! I have never really been a fan of the BMW orange which pervades their range.

Sorry to say but VW blue is so much nicer and I'd love to change my mini for the blue. When it's so easy to change the ambient lights through various colours how short sighted not to extend it to the panel lighting.

I know ther is nothing inside of this onefrom factory, but I have seen it for celicas and scions and I would love to see a design for the R56
Check it out!
Also, I have my dash apart currently, and I was wondering wher a person can pick up these tiny leds. I live in canada and can't find them?

Hello? has anyone seen this mod? My brother is an electrical engineer and he is building this for me on a spare tach that I purchased. Mine will have all blue lights, when hitting a set RPM, they will change to red ( including the led's for the alarm on top ). This will act like a shift light and will be fully adjustable with a dial on the back of the guage. Will post video's when done and posibly mod for others ( depending on cost ).

I LOVE those blue lights. Anyone know if someone in the states can do this? I'm good with a soldering iron. Just would need some detailed instructions and bulb/LED reference.
