Handbrake Grip

Can somebody please help me, I had some JCW bits (Gear knob, Hand brake grip and mats) sent from Chris at Derek Woodmans. The gear knob went on fine and the mats are great. The problem is I can't seem to get the Handbrake grip off.

In the instructions I got sent it looks like it just pulls off. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong? Or do I just need an extra shredded Wheat in the morning.

I'd probably go with this option.

Sorry I can't help. I fitted my own gear knob but stealers fitted my handbrake at the same time as the steering wheel, but I should imagine it just pulls of like the gearknob.

You have to release the gaiter first, which is achieved by carefully prising out the plastic surround from the consul (this is the hardest part). The gaiter once pulled up and inside out can be detatched by cutting off the tie wrap that hold it to the grip. The grip is secured by a lug that fits in a slot in the metal lever, this neeeds to be lifted with a small flat srewdriver before it will pull off.

When fitting the JCW grip you will find there is no securing lug. The official instructions tell you to use an adhesive 'Sikaflex' to secure the grip to the lever.
