Reading Lights Removal, How?

Just both some brighter replacement LED bulbs for my R56 interior reading lights and wanted to know whether to change the bulbs one need to remove the entire overhead toggle switches/sensor unit or can one just remove the reading light housing?

I tried the later but it seems to be either a very tight fit or permanently fixed. Have not tried to remove the entire overhead unit as I fear all parts will come apart and I might have a hard time getting all bits put back in place!

Any ideas guys?
