I have an R56 MCS with the HiFi option and i have found that it gets better with time. it seems to be smoother now & with more bass. it could be that the speakers have "run in" a bit which is a common thing with home HiFi systems.

Never heard of speakers with a running in, do you use CD-R's in your Hi-Fi, I have found that when I copy CD's on Windows media, they are nit as good qulaity as if I have burnt them on Nero?

It makes sence to me as they will loosen up a bit were they are moving. I will ease them in a bit before I put any Nirvana on,

I have standard Radio Boost in my Clubman.
A little tweaking of the Bass and Treble with your known good sounding tracks, will give fair results.

But is is not as good as my old R53 MCS Checkmate standard Radio Boost.

Some upgrade drivers will be the way to make the system better, The head wont give much difference in an upgrade, its the drivers that matter.
