Is there a forward seat stop?

One of the simple little things about the Mini that improves my life, is that when the driver or passenger seats are slid to the forward position so that someone can climb into the backseat, the seats stop at the forward slide position. I'm am one of the rare breed with two child seats in back & not having the seat sliding back at me while I am buckling my kids into their seats is much appreciated. Unfortunately this forward catch on the slide no longer works. And the last time I was at the Mini dealer for maintenance, I was told that they are operating normally.

Did I make this feature up? Do any of your cars have seats that stay in the forward slide position, even on an incline? Did they when the car was new? If so, how can I get that functionality back?

Regards,
Jeff

Mine went like this - found it to be the front mats getting caught in the runners and stopping the seat going quite forward enough to activate the catch...

This may be the problem here too? check the rearward corners of your mats and see if they're curled/bent up.
