Are the illuminated door entry strips standard on the MINI Cooper S Chilli?

As far as I am aware, no they are not.

I have a July 07 build R56 MCS Chilli and the door strips do not light up.

Nope, it is most definately not standard.

They are a dealer-fit option

Not standard. Parts are about (from memory) £100, with fitting an extra £300

I was told that the fitting is so sxpensive because they are very fiddly to wire up. May be different now, so check with your dealer

blimey that fitting is pricey. You'd be far better off pocketing that cash and speccing more options on the car instead
