I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it...re: nav and dvd movies

New owner here... my MINI Clubman S is in the paint shop (two days away from production date) as I type.

Question: is there anyway to view movies on the navigation system LCD screen? My friend has an Acura with Nav and he had some techie pull a couple of wires and he was able to view DVD movies on the Nav screen... pretty cool. Can you do that on a MINI's nav screen? If so... how?
